Cellular Energy & ATP: What Actually Helps You Feel More Energised
You have slept, made coffee and started the day with good intentions. Yet halfway through the morning, everything feels heavier than it should. Your concentration drifts. Training sounds less appealing. Even an ordinary task feels as though it needs a negotiation.

Mitochondria are dynamic rather than fixed. In skeletal muscle, regular exercise creates signals that encourage changes in mitochondrial quantity, quality and organisation. This is one reason consistent training can improve the ability to sustain work.
You do not need an elite programme to benefit from movement. Where Cordyceps fits—and where the evidence stops
Cordyceps has a long history of traditional use and has attracted interest in exercise and energy research. However, the name covers different species, strains and preparations, and their results should not be treated as interchangeable.
In a small 12-week placebo-controlled pilot involving 20 healthy adults aged 50–75, a cultured Cordyceps sinensis Cs-4 preparation was associated with improvements in some exercise-test measures. That is interesting, but the study was small and cannot establish a general energy benefit.
Other research has been less positive. A five-week placebo-controlled trial in trained male cyclists found no improvement in aerobic capacity or endurance performance with a Cs-4 supplement. Studies using Cordyceps militaris, multi-ingredient formulas or animal models cannot automatically be used to predict the effect of PURE JOY’s UK formula.
The honest conclusion is that Cordyceps is an interesting research area—not a substitute for sleep, nutrition, training and medical investigation when fatigue persists.
